Reunited...

Words cannot express how wonderful and memorable these pictures are. Old lamp posts, proper street furniture and real buses! I have truly been reunited with my youth.

Old Photographs

My grandfather and his family etc was born in Finchley and they lived there from 1873. It's lovely to be able to look at photos from that era and think maybe they were there!! Thanks.

Garfield Road School

Lovely to see pictures of the inside, particularly the nursery. I went there from 1952. I remember the beds. Sleeping in the afternoon! Miss York the Headmistress when I was there. Happy days.

And I thought nostalgia was a thing of the past. Loved these photos from the area I now work in.

Great site

Thanks for this great site. So many memories of my childhood. I am now living in Ireland where my parents came from and it is so nice to see all of the old photos from my childhood.

I was delighted to see this website and photo gallery! I am descended from the Dixon family who lived in Friern Barnet for some time, and ran a butcher shop there. I have been looking for information about their home for some time, and at last have found some!
Re Penny Shaw. I was interested to read your guestbook comments. I lived in Friern Barnet in 1940s & 50s and knew a family of Dixons - namely Maureen, Rita, Gillian, Jennifer, Ronald and Keith. I am told that Rita moved to Canada, so maybe there is connection here. Please feel free to contact me, if you wish.
