Number 1586 heads along Ballards Lane from Canons Park to Barnet on the last day of trolleybus operation on route 645 on 2 January 1962. The 645 would be replaced by bus routes 245 (Stanmore Station to North Finchley), route 260 (North Finchley to Barnet) and route 2 which was extended from Golders Green to North Finchley.
