This advert was run by E.R.G. (Edgar Robert George) Sage, the then-new proprietor of C. Bertrand & Co., an august cycling firm since 1900. The firm had been established by the Barmore family and run by Charles Bertrand Barmore until his death in 1937. I am working on a magazine article on the firm and am trying to determine who owned and ran C. Bertrand & Co. after C.B. Barmore's death in 1937 up until Mr. Sage's acquiring of the firm sometime in 1947-48. Any information, photos, etc. would be GREATLY appreciated. Please contact at address below. Thank you!

By the way, the address, 654 High Road, was part of a double-sided shop acquired by the Sages in 1947-48, 654-656 High Road. Before World War II 654 High Road had been known as 10 Woodhouse Parade, but the street was renumbered in approximately 1937.
