My grandfatherThomas H Gray was the licinced victualler at the pub from what I believe from 1901 to 1924 or 1926. My father is the 3 year old child listed in the 1901 Census. He migrated to Australia in 1927 as an assisted imigrant and married in Lismore NSW

The pub was used as a terminus for two bus routes in 1934. The photo shows anST nearest the pub and an LT. The ST was used on route 2 and the LT on route 26. Prior to 1934 route 26 was known as the 526. In 1934, with the formation of the London Transport there was a wide spread route renumbering

My father spoke of stage coaches arriving at the Swan prior to WW1 blowing a bugle to announce their arrival.

A few of us popped in between lessons ( during A Levels), hiding our blazers and ties. At school in Woodside Lane.
