Chapplle's was on the corner of Upper Park Rd & High Rd,they had a narrow full length mirror built into their window. I remember the next shop being Nethercott's the chemist then Oakleigh cycles, model shop, (I remember people carrying their radio batteries to the shop to have them charged) then Stubbs, off-licence,Walmsleys the jewellers, fish shop, Coop,the cafe', Perks, Eden's, the next shop I remember as a haberdasher's ? I'm sure some are in the wrong order. I have enjoyed 'walking' up the High Rd. I lived in Cedar Court, Upper Park 1944 - 1954. Across Springfield Rd was the dairy then the butchers and the pub called the Star. Which shops are in the wrong order??
