Went to Arnos from Bowes Rd school. Recognise some people. Back row L-R.2nd in Michael Johnstone, far right Trevor Bell. Mid row L-R 4th in Roger Cunningham, far right Frederick ? Front row L-R 6th in Jean ?, 7th in Gillian ? Other faces familiar but cannot name. Sorry

That was interesting from Don Taylor. I thought it might be Peter Law 3rd from left back row? Denis 5th? Pauline Downer 5th from left second row, Janet Capelman, Christine Arnold and is it Tony Hembrow 3rd from right? In the front row I think it’s Gillian 6th from right and me at the end right side

Hi Ann & Meg, Agree....Tony Hembrow and Gillian Tanner and Dennis Neary. Others familiar but the names escape. Where are they now? This & other sites ie Southgate/Palmers Green etc have never latched on to people who were in my school era ['48-'58] at Bowes Road and then Arnos. A very few before and many after. Will keep searching.

Hi Don Taylor are the same Don Taylor who knew Margaret Shepherd whose mum worked at the chippy almost next to the cinema (Ritz/) in Bowes Road

Hi Anne & Don, I think the boy 2nd in on the 2nd row is Jack Elliot, and the girl between Gillian Tanner and Janet Clarke is Beryl Hall, think, that was her first name, but its a long time ago. Also it is Margaret Meen sitting next to Ann, sorry for the misspelling.

Message to Don Taylor - yes it's Dennis Neary and Pete Law. Sadly Pete has died some time ago RIP Peter, Dennis is ok also Mick Burton and Mick Berg I saw them 5 weeks ago. I will fill in all the info on the last Garfield reunion in May attended by 31 Garfield people and 23 ex local footballers from the 50s and 60s onwards now I am back to normality her

Does anyone remember Frank Powell who’s best friend was Jack Elliot (RIP) and best man at Franks wedding (my dad)… Think he could be either 4th boy blond hair left side on the second row or Top row on the end right side. Hi Dawn, I remember Frank but we were not close friends. Did he not live in Hastings Rd? Top row right was Trevor Bell, I think. 4th left [blond] was Roger Cunningham lived almost opposite me, rear, but in Pevensey Ave. Not sure but was 2nd left Jack Elliot? Happy 80th to your dad.

Do you mean back row far left? The face and name ring a bell and the more I think about it Frank Parish feels correct.

Dennis Neary is still ok Mick Berg not well at moment hope he gets better soon sadly Mick Burton has passed away this year also Dennis lost his wife suddenly rip in peace to them have a good and healthy 2026 to you all,,, Jim

sad to say we have lost Mick Berg and John Stone now Mick played for the Northern Seniors and new Southgate fc and John played for the Northern Star FC RIP lads
