Postcard

This postcard dated 2 September 1909 was posted in New Barnet and sent to Alfred Cook, a baker at 1100 High Road Whetstone. It reads: "Dear Mr Cook Will you please make us a loaf for our EB Harvest Thanksgiving for Sat & oblige Yours truly J W Pavitt kind regards".

2 September was a Thursday and the loaf was needed for the Saturday! Note the brief address - no post code needed in 1909!
