Vintage buses in North FinchleyCommemorating the 30th anniversary of the closure of the Finchley bus garage while raising money for Children in Need. People were treated to free rides on RT and RM buses on parts of the routes of 13, 125, 134, 221 and 263. Many had travelled to Finchley in order to photograph these historical vehicles and to have a ride, taking them back to their past.

I remember when the trolley bus was taken out of service and replaced with the Brand new Routemasters on route 221

I can remember the first RM operating in the Whetstone area on route 134, from Potters Bar to Pimlico. I sometimes caught this bus going to school.
I have lots of magical memories of the LT Garage in Nth Finchley, buying my Red Rover Tickets. Taking the 104 to Finsbury Square & hoping on different routes all over London. All on my own ant the of age of 11. Great fun, plus a great learning curve on places & History.
Also memories of using local routes 125,104,260,221 & 245 on RT/RM & RML types. I also got a good telling off once for wondering around the garage in Nth Finchley. Ah the magical moments of being young.
