This photo was taken in 1974 during the move from the old school in Garfield Road to the new one in Springfield Road.
The wheelbarrow was used to transport books!

Comments:
I went Garfield Road school ( as did both of my sisters), from 1955 to 1963. First to the nursery, then infants and juniors. Mr Bone was one of my teachers, and he later became headmaster.

This was also the school my dad and all his siblings went to.
