How certain are you that this photo was taken in 1947 ? I query this because the car in the background looks to me to be a bit later than a 1947 car. I'd guess at the mid-fifties and it looks like an Austin A40 Cambridge from the mid fifties. I could be wrong;any thoughts anyone.

I agree about the age of the car built 1954 to 1957, (though at a push it could be an early DeLorean). However The A40's were around for a lot of years so it could even run into the early sixties. The Skiffle/ Country band also would be right for the mid/late 50's
