The house with the board sticking out of top window was No 15, the house I lived in from 1947 until 1970. Great house with lots of great memories.

I was born in South Rd in 1947. My aunt was married in the Salvation Army. Love the pictures. They bring back happy memories.

I think my Grandad, Walter Bacon, was the caretaker at the school. I have some memories of visiting as a little girl.

I knew Walter Bacon very well. He was a caretaker at Garfield School. I met his daughters Valerie and Marjorie at the house attached to the school. Happy times and good memories.

My best friend Marshalline Powell lived in the house next door to the Salvation Army building. We were great friends in Garfield Junior school.

My mother Violet Burgum lived at number 11 Garfield Road during the 1950's until 1956 when she married my father!

I sold the Salvstionist War Cry in New Southgate pubs succeeding the late Claude Henderson. Any further information on Salvation Army Hall?

Army Hall opened in 1888 and closed in 1983.
