Chelwood House, Oakleigh ParkThe inscription on the back of the painting says: "Chelwood House" Oakleigh Park. September 1888. It was painted between Aug and Dec 1889 by Henry Freeman Marks and given as a gift to his father, Thomas Septimus Marks on Christmas 1889.

the names of the houses in Oakleigh Pk North were frequently changed. Chelwood became the Laurels (1892) and later became Arenig (1927)
