The Electrical shop Second in the photo was my dad's. we lived there from 1953 until 1971. Although it was run down area, i loved living there. if the Council had has some foresight they should had refurbished the area. The houses in Lower Park Road would now be worth considerably more than the flats and the area would surely have become gentrified.

Lived at No 52 between the Sweet Shop and Butchers. Think that's my Dad's Estate car out front. Went to Garfield School. I agree with James although it was run down, we had good times there. As far as I know the knocked them down and built Warehouses and car parks. But now they have only just built New Apartments on that land.
