I was interested to see this reference to Friern Barnet Boys Club winning a table tennis cup in 1959. It didn't say what league they were playing in. It could have been for youth clubs in the Barnet area. I recognised the name of team member Alan How, who went on to play in the North Middlesex Table Tennis League, as I did, and we were both officers in the League for many years, running tournaments together. I started playing table tennis at New Southgate Methodist Youth Club in the High Road in 1965.
