High Road, WhetstoneOn the corner of Oakleigh Road North are Wills the grocers (number 1260) and, on the right Bon-Bon confectioner, tobacconist and newsagent (number 1258). The Baptis Tabernacle can be seen behinfd the last car and the sign on the lamppost indicates the boundary bewween Finchley and Barnet Urban Districts

I do not recall seeing a lamp-post of that shape at this location, but I seem to recall seeing one at the corner of Oakleigh Road North and Oakleigh Park South; also on Russell Lane, near its junction with Russell Road, and on Colney Hatch Lane opposite its junction with Hampden Road
