Friern Barnet and Finchley Photo Archive

This is incorrectly dated. As a member of the Boys Club team 1958 through 1961 and captain the last 2 years, I do not recognize either of the boys shown. However, the boy on the left looks like the boy on the front left shown in your picture 724 for 1949.

Also note that we played Blythe Boys Club not Town which was one of the country's top semi-professional clubs then. Blythe BC was an annual fixture and I personally played against them 3 times including in Blythe as well as Bethune Park.

I also captained a Friern Barnet Youth Team 3 times against our twin town Chaville's youth including twice in Paris - posters of both our proudly have pinned on my study wall.

Sorry to differ John .My name is John Hockey and captained FBBC youth team 1962/3/4. I am the player on the right. I also played home and away against Chaville .I can still name the team that played in the Middx u/18 youth cup final inc Chris Cox ,Micky Salter DaveMorrison Tom Purdy etc. Sorry John do not remember you !
