Buses
BD 2620, an all-electric bus on route 43 photographed on 5 August 2019 at the bus terminus at Friern Barnet Road. Two routes serving Friern Barnet have been chosen by TfL for trialling battery powered buses - route 43 (Friern Barnet-London Bridge) and 134 (North Finchley-Warren Street). 37 Enviro 400 EV City buses on route 43 are made by Chinese company BYD in conjunction with British bodybuilders Alexander Dennis. The buses can travel for 150 miles before the liqid-cooled lithium-iron phosphate batteries need to be recharged. Older readers may like to compare these buses with trolleybuses which ceased to serve London in 1962. See also image 10557
