A shop to the left of Elegance, towards the Cavalier, was a shoe shop/(cobblers?), called Wellers if I recall correctly. I bought a school satchel there for about 10 and 6. On the opposite corner, Gallants/Russell, was a great sweet shop which I think was called Gosdens. To the right of Gosdens included The Chippy then further down Janes and Adams. I am talking about early 50's.
